I like the variety of ways this app can be used in teaching and learning! By Ts to create meaningful, memorable and motivational learning experiences for students. By Ss to creatively engage with the class, with peers and with the teacher as an alternate format to print. As a means to capture understanding within a timed recording. This limitation helps students learn how to think and communicate concisely and meaningfully. One example use could be an elevator pitch for use and practice of public speaking skills.

I created an Anchor account and even followed a few people. It is very much like Periscope except that it’s audio. Recordings can be public or private and shared with specific individuals. I like this aspect because my recordings are not automatically public. I can ask a question or have students provide their reflections on a particular issue related to the course, and they can reply to each other’s posts. Posts can be shared on Twitter or Facebook. So if I created a private class Facebook account, we could post the Anchor pieces to the Facebook account and this could be an engaging way to discuss thoughts, analyze issues, etc. Maybe I will test it out!

Hello
How about a collaborative recital of a poem like this favorite by Clement C. Moore? I’ve started it and passing it along the next stanza to the next person and so on.
